2-Bike Platform Hitch Bike Rack for Electric & Regular Bikes
Question:
Yakima Dr.Tray 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2inch Hitches - Tilting - Aluminum Item # Y02473 Hi. I have a regular bike and an Electric bike that weighs 55 pounds. I would like to put both of them on the above rack. The specs say you can put up to a 40 pound bike on it. What do you think? If you cant put a heavier bike on it, do you have a lightweight 2inch hitch carrier that will carry a regular and electric bike together? Thanks.

Yakima's Dr. Tray platform-style hitch bike carrier # Y02473 does top out at 40-lbs per bike weight capacity so for your 55-lb e-bike (and your regular bike) I suggest Thule's EasyFold # TH903202.
The Easy-Fold rack weighs only 45-lbs. It also offers compatibility with Class I, Class II and Class III hitches, unlike most other e-bike racks which fit only 2-inch hitches. The Easy-Fold even includes an aluminum loading ramp for easier handling of the heavier e-bike.
