Trailer Tow Package For 2011 Toyota Sienna  

Question:

We have a 2011 Toyota Sienna with no hitch no tow package. At a minimum, we are interested in adding a hitch just to haul bikes no issues or questions here. a. If we wanted to take this further and tow our pop-up, what parts would be needed to add a brake controller? We do understand that there may be an issue with the 1000 lb towing capacity vs the 3500 lb towing capacity. 3. Do you have brake controllers that can be moved vehicle to vehicle if the appropriate wiring harness is installed? a. Is it possible to just purchase wiring harnesses?

On your 2011 Sienna, you will first need a 4-way connector like part # 118498. You will then need part # ETBC7 to convert the 4-way to a 4-way and 7-way trailer connector to tow your pop-up with brakes.

To use the brake controller like part # 90195 in both vehicles you can use part # 20127. This is a harness you will hardwire on your vehicle and then have a plug-in harness that plugs into the back of the brake controller. The # 90195 comes with one so you will only need one additional harness for the Sienna. You will also want a mounting bracket so you can take the brake controller in and out of the Sienna. The mounting bracket kit is part # TK5906.
