Recommended Class lll Trailer Hitch For 2015 Subaru Forester
Question:
If I have a choice between a 1.25inch hitch and a 2inch hitch is there a reason to go with one over the other? I already have a Thule T2 bicycle rack that is a 1.25inch but if I get the 2inch hitch I can just use a reducer adapter right? Also if I do use a reducer/adapter from 2inch to 1.25inch will I still be able to put the screw bolt through the bike rack?

We recommend always going with a 2-inch trailer hitch because there are so many more accessories that can be used with a 2-inch hitch.
We offer a Class lll hitch # C13144 from Curt and part # 75876 from Draw-Tite. I recommend the Draw-Tite hitch because it does not require a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 for all non-trailer items like Curt does.
If you want to stay with the 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch we offer a Curt Class ll hitch # C12100 that has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
You can install the Draw-Tite # 75876 hitch and use part # HT02 adapter to carry your T2 bike carrier with the 1-1/4 inch shank. The threaded bolt will still be able to be used for the bike carrier.
You will need a hitch pin and clip for the # HT02. for that I recommend part # PC3. If you need a locking hitch pin I recommend part # e98880.
