Can Curt Class III Trailer Hitch for a 2006 Toyota Sienna Tow an 18 Foot Boat
Question:
Will the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 Item # C13105 be good to tow a 18 ft boat

Expert Reply:
Curt trailer hitch # C13105 for your 2006 Toyota Sienna can handle an 18 foot boat/trailer, no problem, provided that the gross trailer weight is within the capacity of both the trailer hitch and the vehicle. The hitch is rated for 350 pounds tongue weight and 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight. When used with weight distribution the hitch is rated for 500 pounds tongue weigh and 5,000 pounds gross trailer weight. But based on the owner's manual for your van it is limited to the 3,500 pound capacity.
Since you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK4. It comes with a ball mount with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop, interchangeable ball set, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
And for trailer wiring you can use # 118304 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle. If your trailer uses surge brakes with an electric lockout then you would likely need a 5-Way. For that you would install the 4-Way above and then add adapter # 20036
