Trailer Jack and Winch for 3,000 Pounds or Less Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a 16.5 smokercraft boat with a 75hp mercury outboard. I dont know how much the boat weighs fully loaded but I would estimate 2500-3000 lbs at the most. Im probably overestimating but believe thats better than underestimating. The boat rides on a shorelander trailer with rollers not bunks. What size winch and what size trailer jack should I purchase? Thanks .

Since a jack doesn't need to hold the weight of the entire trailer it's pretty easy to get one rated for more than what you need. the 1,500 pound bolt-on swivel jack # MJ-1500B-DWL or 2,000 pound weld-on # TJP-2002S-B will be enough and are both great options.

It's the same for a winch as well. The winch doesn't need to support the entire weight of the boat but needs to be strong though to pull it along your rollers. Being that you have rollers that will make it easier on the winch as well. The Fulton F2 # FW16000101 or # FW20000301 will be plenty for your boat.
