I do have instructions for you, but they're general in nature, not vehicle specific. The good news is that the installation method doesn't vary much from vehicle to vehicle. I'll link you to an install video showing the kit being used to install a brake controller on a 2012 Santa Fe. The procedure on your 2009 model would be very similar.

If your Santa Fe does not have a 4-pole trailer connector, you will need part # 118415. The 7-way trailer connector included in the install kit will plug into the 4-pole once it is installed, with 4 loose wires remaining. The blue wire will run under the vehicle, through the engine compartment and through the firewall, ultimately connecting to the blue wire on your brake controller. The black wire will provide power to the trailer connector for any trailer-mounted accessories requiring 12-volt power. It will attach to the positive battery terminal via the 40 amp circuit breaker included in the kit. The white wire would be grounded to clean metal on the vehicle. The purple wire is typically used for reverse lights on the trailer, if it is so equipped. If this circuit is not needed, this wire can simply be bundled up out of the way.

The controller itself would mount under the dash within easy reach of the driver, typically to the right of the steering column. The controller will have 4 wires exiting the rear. The blue wire would attach to the wire ran from the rear of the vehicle, the white wire would ground to the negative battery terminal, the black wire would attach to the positive battery terminal via either the 20- or 30-amp breaker (depending on which is specified in your brake controller instructions). The red wire attaches to the cold side of the brake stoplight switch. This switch is located at the top of the brake pedal and can have several different wires exiting it. Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to locate the wire that shows current only when the brake pedal is pressed (probably green w/ black stripe or gray w/ black stripe, but you should still test it.) Once this wire is found, tap the red wire into it.
