Replacement Electric Brakes and Components for a 2000 Coachman Catalina Trailer

Question:

Hello, I recently purchased a 2000 Coachmen Catalina 270 RB GVWR 10,000 ibs. I would like to replace the wheel bearings and all components seals, races, etc. Also want to replace break parts and anything you think is relevant for this area. I need help in identifying the correct replacement parts. What grease do you recommend and do you sell the bearing packer and other helpful tools? Regards,

We will be able to find you the electric brakes and other components that you will need for your Coachman Trailer.

We will need some additional information to make sure that you will be able to select the correct products for your trailer.

First, we will need to know what your axle rating is on your trailer. Most axles will have this information printed on a label that is attached to the axle tube. By chance is this information is missing, then the inner and outer bearing numbers or inside diameter will help you identify your axles. I have attached a picture that will show you what measurements are needed.

Looking at the information that you provided, I am going to assume that you are going to have 5,200 lbs axles that will have brakes assemblies that will measure 12x2 inches. If this is the correct size axle, then I recommend # AKEBRK-7-SA Brake Kit Assemblies. This brake kit will include both left and right brake assemblies for one axle. The brake assemblies are self-adjusting so only an initial set-up at installation will be needed and after the brake will self-adjust during use.

As for drum, bearings, and seals, you will need to match current bearing numbers and the bolt pattern on the drum to find the correct parts. I have attached a link that that shows all the drums available that you can choose your drums once you have the correct ID information. All drums assemblies will include bearings, seals, races (installed in drum), dust cap, and lug nits.

As for grease, I recommend Disc/Drum Brake and Wheel Bearing Grease # L11465. This grease resists the high temps that can occur with in an axle's hub. I also recommend the LubriMatic Bearing Packer, # L70025, and if needed, the LubriMatic 14 oz. Grease Gun, # L30200.
