Which Blue Ox Kargard for Honda CRV Being Flat Towed to Protect Paint
Question:
First I must say what a great web site tow products. But most of all the fantastic amount of details and videos for a product. I have learned a bunch watching the videos of install, use and removing. Your data has helped me determine what products will work and how they are installed and used. Question is thee BX8870 does not seem very high. My Honda CRV had very sever front damage from a rock and tar sealing experience to the tune of $5,400 and pain. Rocks hit the side mirrors, wind shield, leading edge of roof by wind shield, hood lights bumper and down under the front engine guard. It was a mess. My class A has my bigger then original tire flap guard at the back that I custom made. But yet rocks blew past into the CRV. Wondering if wind took rocks out the sides around guard and into CRV to include the side mirrors ? Therefore I am trying to figure out the best 1 or 2 Blue Ox guards to use ? The BX8870 makes me wonder how rocks flying up would not hit the top edge of the guard and damage the upper wind shield and roof. Does the slight bend of the guard top cause wind to re-direct the rocks over top of the car ? It might be a design thing that I cant see and understand. I do NOT need another paint and parts repair bill of $5,400 some dollars. What do you suggest ? If BX8870 how does it protect upper, lower and sides from rock damages ? Air flow ? I have heard the plastic of 8870 can crack during use somehow ? Thanks folks

The Kargard part # BX8870 is a larger shield setup that if you were looking for just running one protector setup this would be the way to go. We've yet to have any issues with it cracking so I would not anticipate that being a problem for you unless it happened to be used to block a very large rock. Which in that case it would be better for the guard to crack than it hit the vehicle.
The Kargard I and II cannot both be installed at the same time.
