Recommended Axle Replacement For 5200 lb Dexter Axles With Electric Brakes
Question:
I ordered leaf springs and mounting hardware two years ago - the axle bent so a complete new suspension and axles setup needs to be installed with electric bakes. I need a list of parts including bolts – money is an issue – please. I have attached pictures of two data plates. This will be a summer/fall project and a money issue.

The only axles we carry that are that 5200 lb capacity are the Timbren Axle-less Suspension System. For your application, I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - 4" Lift Spindle w/ Brake Flange - 5,200 lbs # TASR5200S03. This will replace your leaf springs and your axle. It has a brake flange and is compatible with standard hubs and drums. If there isn't a crossmember where you install your axle, you will need to use a 2 inch by 3 inch steel tubing to connect the 2 Timbren suspensions together use in the built in hole on each unit.
For your brake assemblies, I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA. These are side specific and are labeled to make that easy for you. They require an initial adjustment at install and then self-adjust after that. For the mounting hardware, I recommend # BRKH12. If you need new wire for your brakes, I recommend using # 10-2-1 sold by the foot.
For your hub and drum assemblies, I recommend the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 5,200-lb and 6,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 12" - 6 on 5-1/2 # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K. This will give you the bearings, races, and seals as well as the grease cap and lug nuts. I recommend using the LubriMatic Mini Grease Gun Kit with Multi-Purpose Grease # L30132 if you don't already have one and a bearing packer like # L70025 that uses that zerk fitting to make it easy.
I only received one picture, so if there is more you need, just let me know. This will completely replace your current system.
