Drop Shank Recommendation for Equalizer Weight Distribution for Taller Tow Vehicle
Question:
I own an 1,000 / 10,000 lb. Equal-i-zer Sway Control Hitch with a standard, 3inch shank set at the top. It worked perfectly with my prior tow vehicle, keeping the hitch ball height at my trailer manufacturers recommended 18. The trailer GVW is 6000 lbs, and the dry tongue weight is 467lbs. The hitch on my new tow vehicle sits considerably higher, so the hitch ball height is now 27. Can I use the Equalizer 90-02-4400 to the hitch ball down to where it needs to be? Thank you.

All you need is a lower shank so that your setup can be towed level. The part # EQ90-02-4400 will fit your Equalizer system and will allow you up to 9 inches of drop. That would be perfect since that's exactly what you said you need.
