Weight of Individual Parts of B&W and Curt 5th Wheel Hitches for a 2017 Chevy Silverado Puck System

Question:

This is a follow up on my previous question: Height Settings for Curt and BandW 5th Wheel Hitches for 2017 Chevy Silverado 3500 with Factory Pucks. Thanks for the complete answer on previous question. In terms of periodic one person install and removal being possible, what is the weight of the base and heads as the two basic removable parts of the Curt A16 C16520-16025 and BandW BWRVK3700 for the Chevy factory puck systems? Assuming no need to remove and reinstall attachment bolts. Just remove head, and remove base - and vice versa. And what degree of angles will the each of the heads allow from side to side? Im assuming adjusting the height so there is a least 5.5-6inch of side rail clearance is key, and whether the hitch angle limits would come into play prior to side rail contact at this setting. Thanks for a great website, and the technical help.

On B&W hitch # BWRVK3700 the base weighs about 85 pounds and the head weighs about 74 pounds.

On Curt hitch # C16520-16025 the head and center section weigh about 82 pounds (the head by itself is more like 65 pounds) and the base which would be the 2 legs weigh about 92 pounds together.

The heads do not tilt all that much and the reason for that is the width of a 5th wheel trailer. A small amount of tilt at the hitch equals a lot of tilt at the far ends of a trailer. It is roughly 7.5 degrees side to side. Having about 6 inches of clearance from the tops of the bed sides to the bottom of the trailer overhang will provide ample space.
