should you run a lower psi on a tire with a max of 65psi on an empty trailer.

You always want to have the tires on your trailer inflated to the maximum tire pressure as specified on the tire. If you run the trailer tires at a lower PSI, the thicker sidewall of the trailer tires would cause the tires to heat up quicker and would reduce the life of the tires.
