I have the perfect setup to dinghy tow your 2017 Chevrolet Sonic LT.

For a tow bar I recommend using the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, part # BX1703. This kit does not require any welding and has base plate tabs that can be removed for a very clean look when you are not towing your Sonic.

The next thing that you will need is a tow bar. I really like the Blue Ox Alpha, part # BX7380, for this setup because it works well with the base plate kit and it comes with safety cables. This tow bar it rated for 6,500 lbs.

Instead of hardwiring your brake lights I recommend going with the Custer Wireless LED Tow Light # LIW-LDTL. All you have to do is turn the switch on the light to on, toss it on the roof of your Sonic before you go down the road, and plug the 7-Way connector to the 7-Way harness at the back of your Winnebago and you are ready to go!

Most states now require the use of a supplemental braking system while dinghy towing. To comply with state laws, and for added safety, I recommend using the Roadmaster Even Brake, part # RM-9400. This is a portable braking system that you set on the floor of your Sonic and it uses a bracket to depress the brake pedal in proportion to how hard you are braking in your Winnebago.

Finally, you will want to check to see if you need to use a High-Low adapter, like part # BLU34TR, for the most level dinghy towing possible. To help you determine what size adapter you might need I have attached a helpful article that explains how to figure that out.
