Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2017 Honda CR-V
Question:
Im interested in: 2017 Honda CR-V Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III - 2 Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 32 reviews Code: 76128 Can you tell me if there are any components that must be cut/removed from the underside of the car to allow for installaiton? Im not concerned about temporarily lowering the exhaust, but the 2016 had a trim piece that needed to be cut. I dont want to cut anything, I just want a clean bolt-on hitch. Is this one of those? Thanks

For your 2017 Honda CR-V, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III - 2" # 76128 is a confirmed fit that I recommend for your vehicle. It is a sturdy round tube design that is an easy bolt on installation. Nothing needs to be cut or permanently removed from your vehicle. You will need to temporarily lower your exhaust for installation. This hitch has a nice black powder coat over an e-base for superior rust resistance.
If you will be towing with this hitch receiver, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118741. This harness will plug into your CR-V's wiring harness located in your rear cargo area behind the driver's side interior trim panel. The Modulite is powered, so there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits. This protects the factory wiring from overload.
You will also want a ball mount. I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10037B. This gives you the ability to tow level, have two ball sizes, and stow it away. I've attached a video to help. You may also want to use a lock like # e98882 to secure your investment.
