Towing a Fifth Wheel Trailer Using a Gooseneck Hitch in a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500
Question:
We have a 2012 dodge 3500 dually that has a goose neck system already installed. My husband wants to know if it is possible to keep it in place and put our 5th wheel rail system in, in addition to the gooseneck. We haul a good sized 5th wheel camper and he wants to use our system but would like to keep the gooseneck as well. Is it possible to have both systems installed or will the gooseneck interfere with properly mounting the brackets of our rail system?

You won't be able to install both a fifth wheel rail kit and a gooseneck hitch at the same time in your 2012 Dodge Ram 3500. But there are options for you.
One is to use an adapter like the Andersen Rapid Hitch # AM3100 which installs on the fifth wheel trailer's king pin to make it connect to a gooseneck ball. Although, you should know depending on your pin box and trailer this style could void its warranty.
If your gooseneck hitch happens to a be a B&W Turnoverball # BWGNRK1308 you can add a fifth wheel B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 (or # BWRVK3400 for the sliding hitch) which is a fifth wheel hitch that fits into the gooseneck.
There are a number of adapter styles available that may work for you depending if you have a long bed or short bed truck and also what gooseneck you currently have. I've linked our selection for you to take a look at.
