Needing a Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness for a 2009 Suzuki XL7

Question:

I have a 2009 Suzuki XL7.I need a trailer hitch and wiring.The vehicle doesnt look like there ever was a hitch installed.

For your 2009 Suzuki XL7, we carry the Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch # 13518 that is confirmed to fit. I attached an installation video for you.

As for if your Suzuki is pre-wired for towing, you will have to see if your vehicle has the wire plug installed. To do this, please review the attached video on installing a trailer wiring harness on a 2009 Chevrolet Equinox. The two vehicles where manufactured together under a GM/Suzuki. The video will show you how to remove the jack cover panel and jack to find if you have the plug installed.

If you do have the plug installed, then you will need wiring harness # C56012. This harness will plug into your vehicle's harness and connect a 4-flat trailer connection.

If your vehicle does not have this plug installed, then you will need to hardwire in the # 119178KIT. The kit includes a circuit protected tail light converter that is usually needed on non-tow package vehicles to protect the wiring when towing a trailer. This kit will include all the wiring and hardware needed to install in your Suzuki, and a circuit tester to help find the correct wires needed to install the kit.

I have linked an installation video for # 119178KIT for your to review. Unfortunately, it is on a 2007 Saturn Vue and not a 2009 Suzuki XL7. Although, the vehicle installation might not be the same, the installation will be very similar.
