Tow Bar Wiring Recommendation to Tow a 2014 RAM 1500 Express 4x4 Behind an RV
Question:
Good morning, I just wanted to confirm that this wiring harness will be compatible with my 2014 RAM 1500 Express. I am also purchasing a the tow bar bracket. I will be towing it behind a motorhome and also have a supplement braking system in the truck. Thank you for your help!

There aren't any Trailermate wiring harnesses for the 2014 Ram 1500 but there are many other options, see link. This is actually not a bad thing because the Trailermate harnesses tend not to play nice with supplemental braking systems and additional parts would be needed to make the two compatible.
The 4-diode kits such as # RM-154, # TR118821, # RM-15247, and # RM-15267 are the most popular options for the Ram. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
I do not know which braking system you will be using but in most cases the # RM-88400 relay is required to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn. The RM-88400 relay is not required when using magnetic tow lights such as # RM-2120.
