Recommended Base Plates And Flat Towing System For 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2 Door

Question:

Hi I have a 2007 jeep wrangler rubicon two door manual and I would like to flat tow the jeep. I have a crf aftermarket front bumper and was wondering if I could flat tow off of the d ring mounts on the bumper or if they have tow bars that fit on this aftermarket bumper. Thanks in advance

For your 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, there are D-ring Bumper Mounts available to work with your off road bumper. If you have the 1 inch D-Ring bumper mounts, you will want the # RM-035-1 and if you have the 3/4 inch D-Ring bumper mounts, you will want the # RM-035.

For a tow bar to connect your Jeep to your motorhome, I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar - 6000 lbs # RM-520. You may want a hitch receiver lock like # e98882 to secure this to your RV. I also recommend the coiled safety cables # RM-643.

For your towed vehicle wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will utilize your Jeep's tail light wiring while protecting it from overload. Your Jeep also will need the # RM-88400 to keep your lights in sync with your motorhome as well as the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766 to protect your other systems.

For braking, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This system will give you a one time adjustment at initial install and then you don't have to worry about it after that. It will give you proportional braking so your Rubicon will brake with the same intensity and at the same time as you hit the brakes in your motorhome.

The last thing that you may need is a hi-low adapter. I've attached an article to assist in determining what you may need.

These parts along with the helpful videos will help you get and install the parts you need to have to safely flat tow your 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.
