Recommended Trailer Wiring For 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser
Question:
Hello, my 2017 Toyota LC200 Diesel came without being prepared for TOWING and this is something I need to change. I have already done the towing hitch but now I need all the ELECTRICAL part. I will be towing a Caravan 13 Pin or a Off Road Trailer 7 Pin SO I NEED TO BUY THE TOW BAR WIRING HARNESS Could you tell me which is the appropriate part number ?

For your 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser Diesel, none of our companies have a confirmed fit customized wiring kit for your vehicle. Because of this, I recommend you go with the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT. This will allow you to install a 4 way flat connector on your vehicle using a zero-contact interface sensor system that does not require splicing or cutting wires. This will be compatible with your factory wiring getting signal without piercing the insulation on your wires.
Using that 4-way connection, you will then need to install the Universal Brake Controller Kit # ETBC7. This will give you the 7 way connection as well as all the wires, circuit breakers and connectors needed to install a brake controller. To install the reverse lighting function, and portions of the brake controller you will need to splice into your wiring. I've attached some videos of this installation.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller giving you real-time braking in proportion to the braking pressure you give your Land Cruiser. This controller has a very easy to read and understand LCD screen that takes away the need to keep the manual handy for code deciphering. It gives you consistent feedback on what is going on with your trailer connection. It also has 3 levels of boost and is adjustable for your driving preferences.
For your trailer side wiring, We don't have a 13 pin adapter. I recommend swapping out that trailer wiring with the 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box # HS381-9000. This will adapt your wiring to function with your vehicle. You can use terminals like # 44-5310A in this junction box.
