Expert Reply:
If you don't have trailer wiring, I recommend the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit with 4-Pole Connector (Includes Tester) # 119178KIT. This kit will give you the adaptation needed to make the 3 wire system with separate turn and stop lights in your Miata work with a 2 wire system that is standard tail light wiring on a trailer. This has a short circuit protection safeguard against electrical shorts and mis-wire situations. The circuit tester will help you find the wire functions behind your tail lights to splice into with the quick splice connectors.
