Recommended Tires For 2400 lb Trailer Based On Weight Capacity, Wheel Size, and Speed Rating

Question:

I am replacing my 185/65R14 tires with 185/75R14 tires. The max weight of my travel trailer is 2400 pounds. What tire pressure should I use. Thanks

You should always use the maximum listed psi for trailer tires. If you use load range D, you will want to operate at 65 psi at all times. If you use a lower load rating like C you will normally be at 50 psi max. This rating is listed on your tire.

The size you listed isn't a standard size tire. I recommend the Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D, # TTWTRTM2157514D, for your application. This will give you a max psi of 65 and a load rating of 2200 lbs per tire. You will be limited by your trailer capacity of 2400 lbs rather than the axle capacity of your tires. The maximum load capacity is determined by the lowest capacity of any weight bearing component on your trailer. These tires also have a speed rating of M with a maximum speed of 81 mph.

I've linked the page to all our 14 inch options for you.
