Recommendation for Tire Chains to Fit 2016 Toyota Tacoma SR5 RWD with a 245/75-16 Tire Size
Question:
Hi I have a 2016 Toyota Tacoma SR5 RWD with P245/75R16 stock tires. I was interested in purchasing tire chains. The manual specifies a diameter for the side chain 5mm/0.2in and cross chain6.3mm/0.25in. Do they chains have to be exact as stated in the manual. Additionally, I noticed that the TC2323 has a diameter of 3.7mm and the TC2524 have a diameter of 5.5mm. Based on your experience which would you recommend? I am not a regular user, most likely use it 2-3 times a year.

The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains, # TC2323, are a confirmed fit for the 245/75-16 size tires on your 2016 Toyota Tacoma. These chains are Class S compatible, meaning that the chains are designed to fit today vehicles with the larger rimmed wheels with clearance issues in the wheel well. The smaller link chain allows you to mount to your wheel and still have enough clearance between the wheel and wheel well.
Another feature that I like about the Titian Chains # TC2323 is the diamond pattern of the chain as it sits on the tread of the tire. The diamond pattern provides a larger chain to pavement surface area which increases traction in winter weather.
This set of chains would be the better option over the Titan Chain's # TC2524. The # TC2524 chains, although having the same diamond pattern, are not Class S compatible.
I have included a review video of the Titan Chains # TC2323 and an installation video of these chains on a 2016 Tacoma.
