Recommended Cargo Box and Roof Bike Carrier for 2015 Honda Odyssey

I spoke with Kevin and he told me about setup that he used at the time he wrote the review about the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider HR1400. This specific bike rack has been discontinued but Hollywood Racks replaced it with part # HR1400Z. The only real change between these bike racks is that the lock cores are on the handle of the hooks.

The cargo box he is using has been discontinued but Thule has a very similar cargo box with their Motion XT # TH629706. This cargo box comes with SlideLocks to help deter theft.

The roof bike racks are the RockyMounts SwitchHitter # RKY1270. This is a fork mount bike rack so you will have to take the front wheel off before installing your bike. Since this only holds one bike, you will need to get two of these if you decide to haul 2 bikes. This bike rack has a locking feature that secures the bike rack to the roof and the bikes to the bike rack if you get the Lock Cores # RKY0332 as well.

If you don't have crossbars on your 2015 Odyssey, I have 2 recommendations for you that are similar to what Kevin used in the picture.

If your Odyssey has the factory side rails the 60" WingBar Evo Bars # TH711500 Silver or # TH711520 Black with the Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401 from Thule is what you are looking for. This has a weight capacity of 165 lbs.

If your Odyssey doesn't have the side roof rails, I recommend using the Thule Roof Rack Kit which includes the crossbars # TH711400 Silver or TH711420 Black, the Top Track Roof Mount System # THTP42, The Thule Podium Foot Pack # TH460R, and the Fit Kit # THKIT3101. The Thule AeroBlade Crossbars that fit your Odessey are actually 7 inches longer than the crossbars used on the Acura, which will give you more room to fit your cargo box and bikes.
