Recommended Trailer Hub And Drum Assemblies For Tandem Axle Boat Trailer With 2,000 lb Axles
Question:
I have a 2 axle boat trailer with no brakes, I want to put brakes on one axle. The boat motor and trailer weigh aprox 2000 lbs. the spindle is .998 OD X 4inch long, the grease seal shoulder is 1.245 OD X 1 1/2inch long with a 4inch flange with 4 holes for attaching. All 4 wheels I have are 4 lug on a 4inch B/C. I cannot find anything on your website with a 1inch dia spindle with a 4 bolt drumb. Can U help? Thanks .

For your 2 axle boat trailer, we need to first get you the brake assemblies. Based on your picture, this will be easy as you already have the brake flanges. For the passenger side of the trailer, you will need the Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - 7" - Right Hand - 2,000 lbs # AKEBRK-2R and for the driver's side of the trailer you will need # AKEBRK-2L.
For the hub and drum assembly, you will want the Trailer Hub & Drum Assembly - 2,200 lbs. Axles - 4 on 4, # 8-173-16UC3. I recommend using a bearing packer like # PTW1218, and LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease # L54FR and a compatible grease gun like the # 30-800.
