Recommended Demco Auto-Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for 2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD

Ive every RV/trailer except 5th wheel of which I just committed to. 15,000 # GVWR VanLeigh Vilano 325RL 2015 GMC 2500HD I would like an auto slide hitch but maybe one that doesnt weigh 240lbs. Like the Demco so I can remove it when not in use. Are there any others available? Also, the Vilano has a is equipped with a Trailair Rota-Flex pin. Will that need to be replaced?

The easiest 5th wheel install comes with a custom-fit bracket kit that is designed for your specific truck; these reduce the drilling required and substantially reduce the overall installation time as compared to the lower-priced universal kits. For your 2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD I suggest Reese's kit # RP56001-53 which will provide you with industry-standard above-bed base rails.

The Demco 5th wheel hitches are the current options we can offer in an auto-sliding 5th wheel hitch. For a 15K trailer I suggest the 18K-rated Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034 which will install in the Reese rails. If you prefer to use a Demco base rail installation kit use part # DM8552011-71 instead of the Reese.

This USA-made Hijacker hitch provides 14-inches of slider travel, a wrap-around jaw for less rattle and a double-pivoting head for easier hitching on uneven ground. This hitch is compatible with your Rota-Flex pin box (just not with Sidewinder/Revolution types that change the trailer pivot point).
