Three Hinges To Hold Large SST Door 10 Foot Tall By 6 Foot Wide And Approximately 800 lbs

Question:

Wed like to use the subject hinge for a large SST door. The door is about 6ft wide x 10ft tall and weighs about 800lbs. Wed have 3 hinges to hold it. I dont see load ratings or specs, so do you think this hinge would work?

The Polar Wide Bracket Strap Hinge - Polished Stainless Steel - 8" Long, # PLR2008-SSP is not a weight rated hinge. It is however a very strong and durable hinge. It has an overall length of 11-1/16 inches with the strap itself being 7-5/8 inches long and 2 inches wide. The mount holes on the strap are 2-7/16 inches on center and are a 5/16 inch diameter.

The hinge mounting portion to support the door is 4-1/2 inches wide. The mounting holes are also 5/16 inch diameter. The mounting hardware is not included. I've attached a video review for you.

I believe 3 of these hinges can hold the door if they are mounted well to the frame and the door itself. If you are concerned at all about the structure, you may consider using more hinges to offset the weight per hinge, but 3 should be sufficient if mounted properly for the size and weight you referenced.
