Installation Location for Kat's Cartridge Style Block Heater KH11812 in 2014 Kia Sportage

Question:

In regard to potentially installing the KH11812 cartridge-style block heater, I am trying to locate the installation receptacles? in the block of our 2014 KIA Sportage. Jackie C posts a diagram for the 2013 KIA Sportage https://www.etrailer.com/question-182417.html... but the indicated 2nd RRinch position does not appear as best I can see to have a block heater receptacle in our 2014 transverse engine. Neither am I finding any good engine diagrams that might point the way toward whatever I have to pull off in the way of cowling... and so forth... to discover the miracle receptacle. ehem. Anyway... so, can you point us toward such a diagram as might further indicate whether to look high or low... or what to yank off the body, etc... to at least foresee what we might be getting into, if were going to give this block heater a try? Muchas mercie beacoup in advance. :-

I called a tech at Kat's for guidance and he advised that on the 2.4L engine you will want to use a receptacle on the rear side of the block that faces the firewall for installation of their Cartridge Style Block Heater # KH11812. There should be 5 plugs on the block; you want to use the one to the right (passenger-side) of the center. In other words, if you were counting the plugs from left to right this would be the fourth from the driver's side.

I do have an alternate suggestion, using an oil heater. You could use their dipstick oil heater # KH15200 and save yourself all possible headaches. This fits into any 1/4-inch or larger oil dipstick tube and will work fine so long as at least 5-inches of the heating element is immersed in your oil.
