Recommended Battery Disconnecting Switch For 2016 Ford Edge

Question:

I read the answer about disconnecting the black battery cable on a 2015 ford edge for towing. I have a 2016 ford edge Titanium AWD. What can I do so I do not have to disconnect the black cable every time I tow the car or will it hurt the car not doing this? I was thinking about running a hot wire from the motorhome to the car battery on the hot side and not disconnecting the black cable on the car battery. This should keep the battery charged. I start the car several times a day when towing. WOULD THIS IDEA WORK OR WOULD IT HURT THE COMPUTERS OR ANY OUR PART OF THE CAR ?

You can run a hot line from your motorhome to your battery. It will maintain your battery to an extent but hard to know what the power draw is on your battery and whether that hot lead would charge enough to still keep your battery charged enought to start following your trip. Your vehicle relays and fuses will protect your computer and electronics.

I recommend the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System, # RM-766. This will conveniently disconnect your battery so that your vehicle can be flat towed per manufacturer instructions. System with switch provides constant charge to your towed car's battery to prevent dead battery and maintain charge for accessories.
