Could Fifth Wheel Gooseneck Adapter be Used on Trailer With Flat Bed and Recessed Gooseneck Hitch

Was wondering if with the 2inch adjustment on bottom coupler the offset plate would stay off the bed as it articulated on gooseneck ball that is recessed.

Depends on the dimensions of the opening of the recessed portion of your gooseneck hitch but most likely yes.

I went out to the warehouse to measure the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter, # CAB-C5GX1216, and another adapter I think would be a better fit. The Convert-A-Ball portion that connects to the gooseneck ball measured 7-1/4 inches from side to side and 5-1/2 inches front to back. This has an adjustable height of 12 to 16 inches.

I also measured the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter, # AM3139. At its widest point where it connects to the ball, the outside measurement is 5-1/2 inches. This has an adjustable height of 11-3/4 inches to 14-3/4 inches.
