What Parts are Needed to Install a Brake Controller to be Used Between 2 Different Vehicles
Question:
I will pull my trailer with two different vehicles. I plan to purchase two ETBC7 kits. One to install in a 1995 Tacoma and the other in a 2008 Odyssey. I plan to purchase one 90885. Does this unit come with more than one mounting bracket? What wiring harness is needed for the second vehicle?

The 4 and 7 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7, comes with everything needed to hardwire a brake controller on a vehicle. It is recommended first that you install a 4-Way flat on the vehicles if they do not already have one.
For the 1995 Toyota Tacoma, you will need Draw-Tite Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118379. I have included a link to the installation details and a video showing a typical installation below. For the 2008 Honda Odyssey, you will need Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118438. I have included a link to the installation details and a video installation below.
The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, # 90885, does come with 2 different mounting options. You can see both in the 7th picture on the product page. One is a C-shaped bracket and the other is like a little pocket. Which one you use for each vehicle depends on where you can mount it. Mounting instructions can be found in the instructions linked below. If an extra mounting bracket is needed you can use # 7686.
You will also need Pigtail Wiring Harness for Tekonsha and Draw-Tite Brake Controllers, # 7894, which will allow you to easily move the brake controller between vehicles. I have also included a link below to our installing a brake controller from scratch FAQ article along with a video showing the installation of an ETBC7 kit.
