Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness For 2014 Mazda CX-5
Question:
Hi - Im looking to purchase a trailer vehicle wiring harness for a 2014 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD, but I am unsure if my tail lights are with or without LED. How do I find that out? Thanks!

The easiest way to tell the differencve between LED and incandescent lights is the physical appearance of the lights. If you have bulbs in the housing and inside the bulb are vertical wires with wires connecting them they are incandescent.
Another way to be able to tell is when you turn the lights off do they go out immediately then they are LEDs, or if they take just a moment to go off, then they are incandescent.
The trailer wiring harness I recommend for your CX-5 is part # 118563. This harness can be used with either LED or incandescent lights and is an easy installation. To install, you will need to remove the floor covers and rear and side panels to access the connection points. You then run the hot lead wire to the positive battery post with the inline fuse holder. I have attached a link to an installation video for this harness you can check out.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
