Question:

What could be the reason that my dually wheel after tire change is wobbleing and both back wheels are pigeon towed and what is the torque specs for the lug nuts

Expert Reply:

A dually wheel on a motorhome or trailer that wobbles usually indicates either damage to the wheel/rim, to the hub or incorrect lug nut torque. If the rear wheels are pigeon-toed (meaning the right wheels angle to the left and the left wheels angle to the right) then this suggests a bent/damaged axle.

Lug nut torque varies depending on several factors including wheel stud size, wheel material and wheel size. The linked chart gives you the recommended torque range for a variety of combinations. Most conventional steel trailer wheels require 90 to 120-ft-lbs of torque.

I suggest you visit a trailer/RV service facility as soon as possible to have the rear axle, hubs and wheels/tire inspected. This will not only protect your personal safety but also minimize the chances for additional damage to the motorhome.
