Does Tekonsha PRIMUS IQ Electronic Brake Controller, # TK90160 Fit a 1995 Dodge Ram

Question:

will the primus iq brake controler install on my 1995 dodge ram pick-up truck it is a automatic and a 4x4 with a 5.7 ltr. engine with 116,000 miles on it . i purchased a 24 ft. travel trailer over all length of travel trailer is 28 ft. and am replacing my old tecumse control.

Brake controllers are not vehicle specific, so you will be able to install the Tekonsha PRIMUS IQ Electronic Brake Controller, # TK90160, or any other brake controller on your 1995 Dodge Ram. Since you are replacing a brake controller, you can use the existing wiring from it to install the new brake controller.

The wire colors may not match up color for color, so you may need to verify the function of each wire. On the PRIMUS IQ, the white wire is ground, the blue wire is brake output to the trailer brakes, the red wire goes to the cold side of the stop light wire on the brake switch, and the black wire goes to 12 volt battery power.
