Note: This assembly is intended for primary cooling and should provide enough airflow to replace your vehicle's factory fan, but you will still need to determine the CFM requirements for your engine before making your purchase. Engines that have been modified or vehicles used for towing may require additional CFM. There is no limit to the number of fans you can install, as long as they fit appropriately and are mounted on the same side of your radiator so that they do not cancel each other out.
You can install the Dual Powerpack as a horsepower-boosting replacement for your belt-driven radiator cooling fan, or you can use it to upgrade or expand to your current electric fan system. The dual fan cools your engine by pulling 4,000 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air through your radiator at 0 static pressure. High-output, 300-watt motors and skewed fan blades do the job efficiently and quietly. The Powerpack keeps engine loads to a minimum by drawing power (24.8 amps per fan) from the alternator - not the engine itself. The fans are neatly packaged in a slim, customizable aluminum shroud that offers multiple mounting locations and won't hog lots of space in your engine compartment.
Belt-driven radiator fans draw power from your vehicle's engine, which causes a mechanical load that robs the engine of valuable horsepower and torque. The Powerpack, on the other hand, gets its power from your vehicle's alternator, via your vehicle's 12-volt electrical system. The Powerpack's 24.8-amp draw is far less taxing to your engine than a belt-driven fan's mechanical load. So replacing your belt-driven fan with an electric fan system can increase available horsepower and torque - and even improve fuel economy.
The Dual Powerpack pulls mass quantities of air through your radiator's fins using twin fans, each powered by a 300-watt motor. The patented, skewed fan blades are designed to move air with as little noise as possible. Each fan grill is actually a stator flow director that helps produce maximum velocity by aiming the outflow.
You can control the Powerpack with an on/off switch or a thermostat. An on/off switch, such as the Derale lighted on/off switch for electric fans (D16740), lets you control the fan manually.
A thermostatic control, on the other hand, turns the fan on when the coolant temperature climbs past a certain level and turns it off when the temperature falls back to a certain point. The Powerpack works with Derale single-stage thermostat switches (sold separately) with preset temperatures or adjustable temperatures.
The Powerpack's rustproof aluminum shroud can be painted, polished, anodized, or left with its natural finish for a custom look. The shroud also serves as a wind tunnel so that air exits the fan quickly. Built-in air pressure relief vents help keep the static pressure load in check.

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick work at this Derale electric radiator fan. This is a high output dual radiator puller fan. It's going to move 4,000 cubic feet of air per minute to help maintain that optimal engine operating temperature. This will work as an add-on to your system if you need a little bit more air flow to help cool your engine down, or it can serve as an upgrade for you if you currently have a belt-driven radiator fan.
This is going to be a great option to help recover some of that horsepower that you're losing by using your engine. This is going to use your alternator instead, so it will free up some of that horsepower to go to other things and improve your vehicle's efficiency and power. Because this is powered by your alternator it's going to do a great job of pulling that air in to help cool your engine. This is going to have 12 inch diameter fans. These are powered by 12 volt 300 watt motors that only draw about 24.8 amps of power each. These motors are dustproof and waterproof.
They've got an IP rating of 68. The skewed blades here are going to be very quiet and efficient. They're going to help funnel that air right to your engine so that it's going to help everything cool down while still being very quiet for you, so it's not going to be a noticeable noise. Our vintage shroud is going to act as the wind tunnel to help increase the air flow velocity. It's got built-in vents on it to ensure that there's not an excess air pressure build-up.
It is a rustproof aluminum finish. This can be painted or polished or anodized if you want to give it a little extra aesthetic value. Our overall dimensions, it's going to be 26 and three-eighths of an inch wide by 16 inches tall and only about four inches deep. It's not going to take up much room at all. It should be a great option if you are adding onto your system. It is designed for top- or side-mounting.
It includes all the brackets, hardware, and installation instructions that you're going to need to get this installed. It can be operated using a on/off switch. That is sold separately, but it would give you a manual control so that you can turn it on when you want it to, turn it off when you don't. But you can also use a thermostat control so that it just turns on automatically whenever the temperature rises to a certain level. Either way, both those options are sold separately. This is just the fan itself. But this is made here in the U.S.A., So you can trust it's made to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the U.S. If you are looking for a way of helping to cool down your engine, whether you already have a electric system, you're wanting to add onto it, or if you're tired of losing some of your horsepower to that belt-driven radiator fan system, this is going to be a great option for you. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
