Troubleshooting Hyper Flash on 2010 Ford Escape with LED Lights
Question:
I have a 2010 Ford Escape with a tow package that has the led indicators. When my small camper is connected and I test the lights, the turn signal blinkers blink very fast. I have had the harness replaced by Ford since I originally had a 3rd party package that eventually caused a computer failure in the car. And UHaul has connected the new harness to the hitch receiver. All checks out fine until the trailer is connected. Will installing the # P230004C-2 resister package resolve this problem? The attached photo is the modulater I think that is what it is called that is in line to the 2 tail lights of the car. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

The hyper flashing you're experiencing is caused becasue the LED lights draw much less power than incandescent lights. So essentially the vehicle senses the low power draw and believes a bulb has burned out.
Installing the load resistors # DI34ZR on the turn signal circuits will add more resistance and prevent the hyper flashing. I've linked the insallation instructions of the load resistors for you as well.
