Trailer Wiring Harness Replacement Recommendation for 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon

Question:

I had a trailer wiring harness 4 pole installed on my 2014 Subaru Outback by U-Haul It initially worked fineI think, then the harness fell while driving and appeared OK except for a little worn areas. Then the running lightsinch light on the harness connector is always on even when the car is turned off making me disconnect the trail connector when parking for an extended time. All other lights work fine. Any ideas or I have no problem completely turning the running lights 100 off if there is a way. Thanks

What you described sounds like a shorted out trailer wiring harness. When what you described happens it's typically a short on the trailer's wiring that causes the box to fail. They fail by design as a way to protect the circuits of the vehicle.

What you will want to do is find out where the short is on your trailer by looking for any cut or exposed wire, fix it, and then install install new trailer wiring. Which for that you would want the part # 118467 which is a confirmed fit for your 2014 Subaru Outback.
