Can I Tow a 5th Wheel Trailer on a 2006 Dodge Ram with a Suspension Lift Kit

Question:

Just purchased a 2006 Dodge with 12 inch lift. Is there anyway I will be able to tow my 5th wheel trailer with out it rubbing on the box in tow?? Was going to add a hidden hitch to pull with.

Towing a fifth wheel trailer with a lifted vehicle such as yours does not work very well, and we do not recommend doing so. As you pointed out, the trailer will probably rub the bed of the truck or contact the tops of the bed rails, causing damage. Additionally, the lifted suspension could have altered the vehicle towing and load capacities. The trailer will also no longer be level which will make towing difficult and dangerous.

You may be able to use a traditional frame hitch to pull a trailer with a proper on the ball mount. You could install a heavy duty frame hitch like Draw-Tite part # 41929, but before you tow anything, find out if the lift kit has altered your towing capabilities and keep that in mind before you tow.
