Recommended Ladder Rack, Trailer Hitch Receiver, And Truck Bed Extender For 2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Question:

It looks like the BX4004-02 will fit my Chevy Silverado. I also need a roof rack, a hitch receiver to mount under the bed, and a hitch. My bed is 68 long and 62 wide. If I buy the bed extender and have it in use and also want to tow a trailer full of building supplies will I be able to? I also want a ladder rack thats also made to haul lumber. It looks like most of them dont have a piece of metal going vertical on the front or back like some of the smaller cargo pieces folks put on their cabs. I just bought the truck. It has the biggest cab or crew cab. Also do you have an installer here in Columbia, SC that your refer people to? I may or may not want some help.

For your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, the Truck Bed Extender # BX4004-02 , is a confirmed fit. It will allow you to store this extender allowing you full bed access and will give you the extra 28 inches of space.

For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class V XD - 2", # C15323. This is a custom fit for your vehicle and is made in the USA. There is no drilling required for installation, but the spare tire will need to be lowered or removed temporarily for installation. I've attached a video of this hitch install on a similar truck.

For a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow Pintle Hook with 2" Ball - 2" Hitches - 10,000 lbs/16,000 lbs, # BWTS10055. This hitch will give you adjustability to tow your trailer level, will give you a ball or pintle hitch application, and will give you 12-1/4 inches of extention to tow a trailer with the rear gate down more safely. This hitch will also be adjustable for a closer fit when the gate is not down. It includes a 2 inch ball. You may want to use a hitch pin lock like the Bulldog Lifelong Trailer Hitch Lock for 2" Hitches - Flush - 2-1/2" Span - Stainless, # BD580402, to protect this investment. If you need a 2-5/8 inch hitch ball, I recommend the # 63840.

The strongest ladder rack for your vehicle that we offer is the TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Over-the-Cab Extension - 1,250 lbs, # TH43002XT-000EX. This rack will extend over your cab to add 32 inches cargo length and removes easily for a more compact rack. This system has a no drill application and mounts in the stake pockets. This would be my recommendation if you will be using it to haul wood as well as ladders, etc.

For a roof rack on your crew cab, I recommend the Roof Rack by Rhino Rack consisting of # RRVA137B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK227. This rack is a confirmed fit for your crew cab truck. This rack will have a weight capacity or 165 lbs. This rack may or may not fit with the ladder rack extention in place.

Unfortunately, I don't have an installer to recommend in Columbia, SC, but if you are considering doing it yourself already and have basic tools you may be able to do this yourself. Each of these parts is a fairly easy install. I've attached videos and installation details. Let me know if you have further questions.

I recommend checking your owners manual for the capacities of your vehicle as you obviously are going to use this truck for various loads and purposes. You will need to stay within the vehicle capacities or the individual component capacities, whichever is less.
