Does Stromberg Carlson 5th Wheel Tailgate Allow Connection to Fifth Wheel Hitch with Tailgate Up
Question:
i have an 01 dodge 3500 dually, i pull a gooseneck trailer with it, with a factory tailgate you have to obviously put the tailgate down in order to hook up, my question is, does this tailgate have to be lowered to hook the trailer up or can you do it with it up?

The great thing about fifth wheel tailgates like the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate # VGD-94-101 is that they are designed to allow you to be able to back up to a fifth wheel trailer without having to lower the tailgate. I would still recommend you approach the trailer with a bit more caution with the tailgate up and be sure to head straight back to it to prevent you from hitting the sides. Especially if you are on uneven terrain.
