Recommended Wiring To Add Trailer Harness And Brake Controller To 2016 Ford E-450 Cutaway
Question:
I have a 2016 E-450 Cutaway van that I want to add an 7 pin plug to the back of so I can pull a RV. Do they make a harness so I can plug into existing wiring without hard wiring. There are about 4 extra spare connectors under back of vehicle to plug into but can`t find information on this.

We do not offer any wiring harnesses that are designed for your 2016 E-450. I am afraid any trailer wiring you want to do is going to be a hardwire effort.
We do offer universal wiring harnesses that will work for you, but you will need to identify the wires for each of the functions by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. You will need to first install a 4-way harness like part # HM48030.
You will also need a 7-way connector for the RV, so I recommend part # ETBC7. This plugs into the 4-way and you will then need to hardwire the additional wires.
For a brake controller I recommend the P3, part # 90195. This one of our most popular because it is easy to install and operate.
I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring is run for a brake controller and the # ETBC7 you can check out.
I also included links to some helpful articles that explain trailer wiring you may want to take a look at.
