Recommended Platform-Style Bike Carrier For Fat Bike With 4.8-Inch Wide Tires
Question:
Fat Bikes keep getting Fatter...will the NV22G handle a bike that has the 100mm Surly Clownshoe Rims with 4.8in Tires? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The 4.8-inch tires on your fat bike are too wide for the cradles on the Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Carrier, part # NV22G, but I do have a solution for you.
I recommend the Thule T2 Pro 2 Bike Platform Rack, part # TH83JV. This carrier can handle bike tires up to 5-inches wide and has ratcheting hooks that hold the bike by the tires and not by the frame, similar to the Kuat carrier. The nice feature for this rack is that it can be tilted for rear cargo access with or without the bikes loaded. The carrier has a One-Key lock system that secures the rack to the vehicle and the bikes to the rack.
