Recommended Replacement Trailer Wire Harness For 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Question:

Installed a Curt trailer wiring kit on my 2016 Equinox last May. It was the kit used when there is no factory trailer wiring. It worked fine all summer. Now with no trailer hooked up 2 fuses keep blowing, 1 for dome lights and 1 for backup camera and reverse lights. Would that have anything to do with trailer wiring? Chevrolet service believes thats the problem. They disconnected them and fuses havent blow since. Coincidence or not? Thanks

It sounds like your vehicle was getting some electrical backfeeding from the Curt harness you had installed and that was causing the issues you said your Equinox is experiencing. We do have a solution that will work for you.

I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part # 118494. We haven't had the same backfeeding problem with this harness. The included Modulite draws the power directly form the battery to eliminate a power draw on the vehicle electrical system.
