Will The Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier # C18145 Fit A 2008 Toyota 4Runner
Question:
I am looking at buying this carrier or one you recommend for my husband as a gift. Will it work well on a 2008 Toyota 4 Runner? I dont know the size of the receiver and this carrier allows for two sizes. You can still also see the tail lights, correct?

In a flat cargo carrier, the Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier # C18145 is the only carrier I have that will fit both a 1-1/4 inch hitch and 2 inch hitch. It has a fixed flat shank that inserts into the receiver on your 2008 Toyota 4Runner and will allow the cargo carrier to be at the same height as the bottom of your receiver hitch on your vehicle. This will keep the carrier from blocking the view of the rear taillights.
If you wanted more of a selection of cargo carriers to choose from, you could measure the hitch on his 2008 Toyota 4Runner and see if it measures 1-1/4 inches or 2 inches. There are many choices available that will fit just a 1-1/4 inch hitch or many choices that will just fit a 2 inch hitch. I am including a link to a FAQ page on hitch receiver sizes that will show you where to measure to determine the size hitch you have.
If you decide to measure the hitch, please feel free to contact me and I can help you decide on a good cargo carrier for his 2008 Toyota 4Runner.
