What Wiring Harness Do I Need To Connect My Tekonsha Prodigy 2 Brake Controller?
Question:
I have a Prodigy P2 brake controller w/3036 wiring adapter purchased from you folks for my 2015 F150. Worked great. But I now tow with a 2015 F150 that has a built-in controller. Besides, Ford changed their under-dash diagnostic plug I dont know in what year so its no longer a simple case of plugging in an OTC pigtail even if your truck has no on-dash factory controller. Can you tell me what tow vehicle adapter cables are avail/usable for what model year pick-ups - or have all the truck mfgrs gone to proprietary wiring that cant receive over-the-counter pigtail plug-and-play adapters? I have several friends who might be able to use this P2 if we knew what plug-and-play adapters would work for what trucks that is w/o having to tear into the dash. Thanx

There are many plug and play adapters for vehicles with the factory tow packages. Each harness is year/make/model specific. Some harnesses fit multiple years of a particular make/model, so I have linked our brake controller fitguide for your convenience.
If your friends do not have a brake controller port under the dash, then, I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires, # ETBC7. This will give them everything they need to connect the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, # 90885. It will have the wire, the circuit breakers, the connectors, and the 7-way plug. If they don't have a 4-way flat connector already, they will need to get one for their vehicle for this kit to work.
