Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rail Adapter for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Won't Pin to Truck
Question:
I recently purchased a 2014 Ford F350 single rear wheel with an under the bed B and W goose neck hitch. I liked the idea of the the X5 rail system as I already owned a Reese 5th wheel hitch. So I purchase the X5. However, when I installed the hitch into the receiver, it would not pin. Any ideas of what I can do? P.S. this is referencing the X5 rails not pinning to the truck or BandW goose-neck receiver... Not the Reese hitch into the X5

I reached out to my contact at Curt Manufacturing to see what could cause your issue with the Curt X5 # 16310. He said that sometimes there is a very small amount of difference needed to get that pin to lock and that even a thick bedliner could cause the issue. I would recommend getting under your truck and seeing how close you are to aligning those pin holes. It may require a little play up or down, but most likely it is needing to fit further into the hitch and that bedliner may be the issue. Another option the tech at Curt suggested was putting a jack under the center of your B&W to lift the center of the gooseneck slightly. Again it has to do with the smallest differences to line up that pin to make this setup functional for you.
