Recommended Wiring for European 7 Pin On Camper to Attach to Tacoma Pickup That Has No Wiring
Question:
Have a camper with a European 7 pin coming out the camper. I would like to hook this up to my Tacoma pickup that has no wiring. What do I need to add to my pickup in order to accept the European 7 pin so my piggyback camper has all the electrical connections I need?

To wire your vehicle to tow a camper with a European 7-way without requiring any adaption, you will need to find a vehicle side European 7-way connector, which we do not carry. The Trailer Connector Adapter, # 118710, you were looking at connects a vehicle side European 7-way to a US 4-way flat at the trailer. This is not a compatible part for your application. I can help with the vehicle to camper wiring conversion, but not the camper to vehicle wiring conversion.
If you already have a 4-way flat on your Tacoma, you will be all set on the vehicle side because your European 7 way is basically the equivalent of the US 4-way flat when we convert it at the trailer. If you don't have the factory 4-way, I will need the year of your Tacoma to get you the proper wiring.
On the trailer wiring, you will want to convert your trailer to a 4-way flat because it does not have trailer brakes. To do this you will need the vehicle to vehicle tail light converter, # 118158, to separate out the turn signals and brake lights on the trailer and the Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector, # HM48110.
