Question:

I am looking to purchase 16x6 8 by 6 1/2 wheels from you. I have dexter axles Model 8 - 219. I was wondering what size is the pilot hole have to be on the wheels? Local tire guy said to check and make sure it is right diameter. The axles are on 14,000 dual axle flat bed trailer? any help would be great. Thankyou.

Expert Reply:

The pilot diameter of wheels that fit your axle hub are 4.9 inches. We have many styles that will fit your trailer as well as many ST tires. Some combinations are preassembled and ready to install out of the box.

We have Mini Mod style like # AM20761B
Steel Modular like # MX59FR
Aluminum Bobcat like # LHSO513B

If you'd like a couple wheel and tire combinations, I'd suggest the Castle Rock ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 16" Silver Mod Wheel - 8 on 6-1/2 - LR E, # LHACK133 which has radial tires with a load range of E (3,520 lbs at 80 psi) and speed rating M (81 mph). These will provide you with strength as well as the ability to take your dual axle flatbed trailer on the highway without concern.
