Pintle Hook Mount and Pintle Hook Recommendation for Pulling a Military Trailer With a Chevy Tahoe

Question:

I have a 4 wheel drive Chevrolet Tahoe that has a standard 2 receiver that is 19 from the ground. I want to use a Pintle Hitch but that is 31 from the ground and was pulled by a duece and a half truck. Do you make a hitch that would mount to my receiver and extend up closer to the 31 height so the trailer can pull more level?

The pintle hook mount that I would recommend for you is the Pintle Hook Mount, 12-1/2 inch Tall, 8K, part # 63058. This hook mount has an adjustable rise that will go up to a 12 inches. That would put the height of your pintle hook mount right at 31 inches if it was in the highest possible position. This hook mount has a tongue weight capacity of 800 lbs and a total weight capacity of 8000 lbs, you will want to check that against the weight of your trailer to make sure its not too much for this hook mount.

If you need a pintle hook to bolt onto the # 63058 I would recommend the Pintle Hook, Bolt-On, 20K, part # C48210. It comes with all the necessary mounting hardware, and has a very large towing capacity.

I would also strongly recommend you consult your vehicle manufacturers recommendations for towing capacity before you tow your Military M1052A 1-1/2 ton trailer with your Chevy Tahoe.
