Troubleshooting 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 that Won't Activate Disk Brakes of Horse Trailer
Question:
I Have a hart horse trailer. I just bought a 2016 GMC 3500 dully HD. The breaks will not work when applied with foot break or manually. I took to get service on trailer the hooked up Works fine when tested. Ibut hooked to my truck it will not run at all and my truck displays ck trailer wiring check breaks. It does have dics brakes what do I need to do to fix this problem please If I manually slid the control by hand very slow it will work for a second then go off and the truck Displays ck trailer ck breaks on trailer

Sounds like your horse trailer has electric over hydraulic brakes and you have a brake controller in your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 that is either not compatible with that style of brakes or is not in the correct hydraulic setting. Check the controller for any setting changes that mention hydraulic brakes as that will fix the problem.
Or if your controller doesn't have that option you can install a controller like the P3 part # 90195 which does have an EOH setting and would work well for you. To install this controller all you would need is the install harness part # 3016.
