RV-Rated Bike Carrier Options for 2015 Keystone Bullet Premier
Question:
Hi. I have a 2015 22 foot Keystone Bullet Premier Rv. I would like to add a bike rack to the back of the Rv. Originally I was under the impression you couldnt attach a rack to the 4inch bumper it is welded to the i beams below the Rv. I was investigating the adjustable width hitches, but was concerned due to a propane line that runs back for a gas grill. Also, no place to attach support straps. Now I see the Curt E-100 Rv bumper hitch with great reviews. Will my bumper support this for a cross country trip? Appears most people are using the swagman racks?

We can help you find a workable solution for carrying bikes on your Keystone Bullet Premier bumper-pull RV. RV bikes racks come in several varieties, including the bumper-mount type, but we also offer ladder-mount and hitch mount racks too. All RV-rated racks we offer, such as the hitch-mount Swagman Dispatch 2 # S44FR are built to be strong enough to handle the extra stresses found at the rear of trailers and motorhomes.
Your 4-inch RV will be a suitable mounting point for a hitch/bike rack so long as it is continuously welded along its entire length, rather than spot-welded. If so you can use the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack # S64663 which includes the bolt-on receiver for the bumper. A video on this rack is linked for you. If the bumper is fully welded you could alternatively install Curt hitch # E-100 bumper-mount hitch and then choose a 2-inch RV-rated rack of your preference.
Since you have an a-frame bumper-pull trailer another option is the Stromberg-Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier # CC-275 which mounts to your trailer's a-frame and that holds any RV-rated bike rack. This can affect turning clearance, please note.
I own one of the Swagman RV-rated racks, their Original 3 # S64152-2, and it continues to serve us well after several years of regular use.
